Southwold, 25 August 2003

It's difficult to make this text original when we do the same thing each year! A sort of 'tradition' has developed since the mid 1980s that on August Bank Holiday Monday, DDMM head off for the lovely Suffolk coastal town of Southwold, home of Adnams beer. The weather in 2003 was particularly good.

We always dance at the same pubs in the town: the Red Lion, the Lord Nelson, and the Sole Bay Inn, where we usually do two shows. The Sole Bay Inn maintained its welcome, and this year we got this lovely photo of the current landlord Chris (right) with his predecessor Tony (left).

DD's guests this year consisted of Mike and Adam Garland (East Suffolk), Michael Blandford and Ben CHECK (Cambridge), John Tricky (Peterborough MM), David Pallant and Eddie CHECK (Standon), David Evans, Richard Hall, and Richard Coe (Hageneth).

Stonham Aspel is roughly half way home, and a good place to have dinner and rest the tired limbs. And to dance too...
