Southwold 2002

It's difficult to make this text original when we do the same thing each year! A sort of 'tradition' has developed since the mid 1980s that on August Bank Holiday Monday, DDMM head off for the lovely Suffolk coastal town of Southwold, home of Adnams beer.

We always dance at the same pubs in the town: the Red Lion, the Lord Nelson, and the Sole Bay Inn, where we usually do two shows. The Sole Bay Inn has always been very kind to us, and the new landlord there, Chris Chapman, was very welcoming at the end of his first summer. DD's guests this year consisted of Mike and Adam Garland (East Suffolk), Michael Blandford (Cambridge), and John Tricky (Peterborough MM).

Stonham Aspel in the evening

Stonham Aspel is roughly half way home, and a good place to have dinner and rest the tired limbs. And to dance too...
